Tokyo {Cabinet, [Py]Tyrant} Talk

I did an introductory talk on Tokyo Cabinet, Tokyo Tyrant, pytc, and PyTyrant at the Portland Python User Group meeting last night.

It was definitely just an introductory talk, so if you’re already familiar with these projects it probably won’t be very interesting.

Errata: My slides state PyTyrant 1.1.11 doesn’t work with Tokyo Tyrant 1.1.17 — this is wrong. I don’t know what I was doing yesterday, but today all my tests work on Tokyo Tyrant 1.1.17.

I haven’t updated PyTyrant since 1.1.11 because the protocol didn’t change, although I didn’t realize that the NO_DELAY fix isn’t in the released version. I’ll try and do a release for that soon.

  2. @Bob: Hi Bob! Thanks for the comment and also for your work on PyTyrant! I don’t know what I was doing differently yesterday, but now PyTyrant 1.1.11 is working fine with Tokyo Tyrant 1.1.17.

It was fun to tell your python buddies horrible stories from your college years as I remotely attended.

    What is this?????????????

  6. @Rich: Ha. I was waiting for that response. :-) Basically a simple way to store data quickly. Yeah, us computer geeks get all excited about that sort of thing. :-)
